3DS XL to get Circle Pad Add-On

3DS XL

By now I’m sure you’re already aware of the 3DS XL, announced by Nintendo late last week. If you’re not, it’s probably because we were too lazy to make a big deal about it, but it’s happening that’s for sure, yes sir.

Due for release on July 28th (that’s one month from today people), the 3DS is bigger, heavier and carries improved battery life over its predecessor. It even comes stuffed with a 4gb SD Card as opposed to 2gb. However, one thing that it is lacking is a second circle pad – one of the complaints that dogged the original machine.

Fear not, however, as it has been revealed that there will be a new, larger Circle Pad Pro add-on released later in the year that will connect to the XL (as the existing CPP is too small for the new model). So now we can all rejoice in the fact that MGS3 might actually be slightly playable on the new machine, and all Nintendo are asking for is just some extra money to get something that should have been included in the first place. Huzzah! Oh, did we mention it doesn’t come with an AC adaptor either? Don’t worry, you can pay a bit more to get one of them too! Just pick a few more leaves off the money tree in your back garden.
