Just shy of 12 months ago, on May 28th 2011, we the people were given a double treat. Mere moments after seeing Manchester United humiliated by Barcelona at Wembley in the UEFA Champions League Final, we were then rewarded by the first TV spot for Gears of War 3. In 2012, it seems like we might have three highlights to look forward to.
The first television spots for Medal of Honor: Warfighter AND Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will air during the commercials of tonight’s UEFA Champions League final between Chelsea and Bayern Munich. The MoH trailer is due to broadcast at half-time, with Black Ops 2 likely to follow it after the final whistle (though no confirmed time has been announced for this). All that we need to complete the triple triumph would be for Bayern to stuff the blues and lift the trophy. Maybe Torres could break his leg too.
With MoH vs CODBOPS resuming their 2010 rivalry, it will be intriguing to see if these first televisual sneak peaks will generate as much heat as last year’s Battlefield vs Modern Warfare scrap. For those who care more about the games than the football, the match kicks off at 7.45pm, so you can afford to wait until roughly 8.30pm for half-time and 9.30pm for full-time to tune into ITV 1 or Sky Sports 1 (or their HD equivalents).
